Omega Ulta SPM:
Specialized Pro-resolving Mediators.
These are bioactive compounds (like resolvins, protectins, and maresins) that your body naturally makes from omega-3 fatty acids particularly EPA, DHA, and DPA. Their job isn't just to reduce inflammation, but to actively resolve it essentially telling the immune response to wrap up once it's done its job, rather than lingering and causing chronic low-grade inflammation.
Since SPMs are made from EPA, DHA, and DPA, the ratio and quality of those fatty acids in a fish oil supplement directly affects how well your body can produce them which ties back into gut barrier function, immune regulation, and by extension, skin health too.
This Gut-Specific Fish Oil is a full-spectrum formula built specifically for gut microbiome support, using a superior balance of EPA, DHA, and the often-overlooked DPA to promote healthy immune function and gut barrier integrity. Unlike typical formulas, it's designed with higher EPA than DHA a ratio specifically chosen to support gut health.
Fish oil is genuinely beneficial for health, but most supplements are poorly formulated many products marketed for "gut health" actually use omega-3 ratios better suited to brain health, so the gut benefits get lost. This is a missed opportunity, since fish oil's anti-inflammatory effects can meaningfully support the gut lining and microbiome balance.
That gut connection also extends to skin. Through the gut-skin axis, gut inflammation often shows up as skin issues like breakouts or redness. Omega-3s help skin directly too supporting barrier function, hydration, and easing conditions like acne, eczema, and psoriasis.
A recent experimental study published in the Journal of Scientific Reports found that omega-3 supplementation increases microbial diversity, specifically Bifidobacterium, Akkermansia muciniphila, and Lactobacillus, and supports the production of intestinal alkaline phosphatase (IAP) which balances gut microbiota.
Bottom line: a well-formulated fish oil can support gut and skin health simultaneously, but most products aren't designed to do that.
